Where do you count your weight loss from?

No.  I was on a low carb diet for 2 weeks before surgery, but that was it.  I went to Mexico, so I didn't have to go through any insurance requirements, either.

I am self pay so no fighting insurance luckily. I just wasn't sure if all doctors require weight loss pre surgery. I am going through a Dr in Norman, Ok so I'm hoping between self pay and everything else I'm not required. I don't think I'd ever get to surgery!

Thank You :-)

I count from my highest weight. It isn't too far from my surgery weight anyway. And sometimes I think the pre op diet was the hardest!

My ticker reflects my starting weight as my weight at my first surgical consult appointment.  However, I had lost 13 pounds on my own before deciding that I wasn't going to be able to lose the rest and sustain it without some help.  So my starting weight as far as my ticker is concerned was 335, but my high weight was 348.  I count that 13 pounds for my own records, but when I set up my account here, I just went with what my weight was at that first appointment.

I count from my highest weight...which is the day I started the six month supervised diet. I lost over 100 lbs prior to surgery and I want credit for it lol!

I count from my highest weight - the weight I was when I went to my initial meeting at the WLS center.  When the WLS people calculate, they use the pre-surgery weight, but I'm taking credit for every pound!

best wishes,

Carol
