I had surgery February 28, so exactly 4 weeks ago. I've lost 26 pounds since the day of surgery and 35 since I did a liquid diet on my own the week before. My surgeon didn't require it until the day before, but I wanted to carb, sugar, and caffeine detox before surgery. I think that helped make my recovery very easy. I'm back at work and life is pretty normal right now. I'm on soft foods and I have been working to get in 500 calories and 60 grams of protein. I'm trying to get my protein in through food and not protein drinks. I'm getting 64 ounces of water in everyday, I would like to get more in but I start to feel bloated and nauseas if I go over around 70 or 75 ounces. As I increase calories to around 600 I will work on more fluid as well. I plan on staying around 600 calories for weight loss right now. I stay under 20-30 carbs everyday, usually on the low end of that and plan to continue to stay low carb. So far I feel great! Too early to say I don't regret the surgery but no complaints as of yet!

Awesome!! Congratulations!!!  that's great... I"ll be one month post op next Tuesday.  I've also lost 30 since pre-op however, I find myself at a stall.  This week I did not lose any weight.  I guess the good thing is that I did not gain.  Hopefully I can break this stall by next Tuesday... :)

Congrats again.. and keep up the good work!!! :)

Hi Kellie

First off Congrats! I will be going in for surgery on the 3rd of April. Have a quick question, when you say you stay under 20-30 carbs are you talking grams per day?

Yes, most of the carbs I do eat are just from yogurt. I love Greek yogurt and it's a good source of protein. I'm not cleared for veggies yet and will be adding some green beans and mushrooms after I am cleared for all foods in 2 weeks, but the focus is get tinge my protein up a little more.
