Vacation revelations
Just got back from a 9 day trip to Seattle from PA. I hate to fly but I loved not needing a seat belt extender.
I didn't always make the best food choices but with my sleeve, I was able to keep myself in check and could only eat a fraction of what was on my plate.
We did a lot of walking and everyone was tired, except me. One morning, I walked three miles on the hotel treadmill and then carried my 80 pound niece around on my back in the afternoon, uphill!!
I was able to wear a bathing suit and not be embarrassed, I was able to go on carnival rides at the county fair with my son which he loved. I did too, except for one ride where I felt like I was in a stand mixer!
My priority this trip was to have fun and relax, where in the past I would have been focusing on the next meal.
I was able to buy a souvenir t-shirt from the Space Needle, which I could never do before.
I didn't mind having my picture taken and I have precious moments captured with me in them, which was a rarity before.
All in all, my first vacation with my sleeve was great. I am looking forward to the next one!
