5 mos out - an update

Hello everyone,

when i wake up tomorrow it will be my 5 month surgiversary. Holy cow! I'm down almost 67 pounds and about 28 until my first goal weight. I'm inching closer to onederland every week and that is exciting!

I'm generally pleased with my progress. I follow more of a moderation mentality with exception to bread, sweets, pasta and pizza. Pretty much NONE OF THAT!

I was scared to death about Halloween, but survived! Now onto the challenges of Xmas! I've decided to just take it day by day and if I want dessert on Xmas, so be it. I didn't allow myself anything for my birthday, it felt wrong. Not sure if I regret that or not.

I eat mostly shake meat, cheeses, nuts, cold cuts, eggs, an occasional kind bar, fruits and veg. Sometimes I indulge in Quinoa chips or rice works crackers, but not often.

Mu two biggest struggles are the same two I had before surgery- night time snacking and fitting in Exercize.

For all of those newbies, your sleeve is just your seatbelt in case you crash. Plan and be prepared for detours!!

To the veterans, any advice would be appreciated!! Here's to the next 5 mos!

Sounds like you're doing well!

Can you shift your meals later, so that you're eating your last meal during your prime snacking time?

As for exercise - you've just got to figure out how to make it work if you want to.  I don't know your schedule, so it's hard to advise.  I like to get my exercise in early in the day so I'm done with it.

Yeah, it's hard. I'm a teacher and I have two little kids. So basically the only time I'm not working is when I'm sleeping! Lol

You can involve the kids in your exercise - run around the playground while they play.  Play soccer.  Go to a class together - there are "mommy and me" classes of varying types for all ages where I live.  Have the kids be your exercise and use them as weights to lift ;)
