Drain with Sleeve
I had a drain, I think it's to get rid of some of the fluids & clots/tissue excess that's built up during surgery. Mine was removed when I was discharged. Good luck with your surgery.

had one in the hospital , some surgeons have you swallow a dye and check the drain for leaks mine didn't but did the standard swallow test with an x ray
feels a little funny coming out , my hubby had one once that was in for around 1 week and it hurt a little coming out was told because the wound was healing around it but in 2 days that will not happen
I was told that everyone gets a drain for this procedure. I believe it is to monitor the amount of bleeding in your abdomen after surgery, to make sure it is not excessive. I understand that most people have it out before discharge but in some cases you do have to go home with it. I had mine out right before discharge about 24hrs postop. It is a little irritating and it does hurt pulling it out but it only lasts a couple of seconds and it feels better than when it is in. I hope this has helped ease your anxiety a little. I hope it all goes well for you. Feel free to message me. I am 3 weeks postop tomorrow. Good luck.
