Small Set Back

I was scheduled for my sleeve surgery today (thank you to everyone who had me in their thoughts and prayers) and another procedure to remove a pin from my ankle. I was prepped for surgery and was on the OR table when I learned my bariatric surgeon had the flu and needed to reschedule the surgery! The Ortho surgeon went ahead and removed the pin.  I'm back to waiting on a surgery date......... On a positive note, this is only a temporary set back and the nurse gave me permission to eat one lean meal a day along with my pre-op liquid diet until a new date is set. Happy Holidays.

Oh I'm sorry that you got rescheduled!  That happened to me as well, but I had ~10 days notice.  It was still frustrating.  I hope they get you in soon and it goes well :)

I was rescheduled when I got a skin infection a few days before surgery and had to redo the liquid diet a second time

everything has a reason so maybe its for the better to wait a drop longer , you want a healthy surgeon

You were so close! So very close! How disappointing. But I suppose the only thing worse than being "left at the altar" in the OR would be to have the surgery and then come down with the flu during recovery.

You def dont want a sick doc operating on you! And you dont want to catch sick after surgery. I did and it was horrible.  Good luck!
