7 weeks post op and I'm STARVING!!!
It's been 7 weeks since my sleeve surgery and for the last week and a half I have been soooo hungry! I did not feel hungry at all until last week. I don't know what I'm doing wrong! I have been eating very high protein (80-100 g/day), between 700 and 1000 calories a day, no high carbs, no sugar... but about 45 minutes after I eat I feel actual hunger pains.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what causes it and how do I get it to stop?
Thanks!
Are you taking a PPI such as Prilosec or Nexium? Acid often mimics hunger and a PPI solves this for a lot of us.

Two things to check, dense protein and acid reducer. If I sick to meat, fish, nuts etc, I last up to 4 hours. If I eat greek yogurt, I'm hungry in an hour. Also, the only problem I have with acid is the mimicking of hunger....its my signal to tai a pill. I usually need one every 2-3 days. Good Luck!
First, how many grams of carb are you eating a day and what kind? You say you aren't doing "high carb" but even moderate carb will spike hunger at this point.
Second, 1000 calories a day is a LOT at 7 weeks out so that's why I'm questioning what you are eating besides protein. Fruit and "healthy" starches will still make you hungry. Stop eating them.
Third, if you aren't taking a PPI for acid you may need one. Excess acid will mimic as hunger. Next time you feel this "hunger" at 45 minutes after a meal try taking a couple Tums. If the "hunger" goes away then it wasn't hunger...it was acid and you need a PPI or need a stronger one.

are you getting 64 oz of fluid a day? Dehydration after makes itself know as hunger.
