4 oz of meat and 4-6 oz veggies

soft food I can eat more of

my surgeon said at a year I would be able to eat around 8-12 oz which is about right by the way my surgeon makes a lose 32f sleeve

his patients lose well and have few problems eating or drinking

just because you can eat more does not mean you should

I'm 21 months post-op and I can eat 4 ounces of protein and 2 or 3 ounces of veggies at a meal.  I'd guess its more like one cup in volume - much less than 2 cups.

If the food was really soft, I could eat 2 cups.  Maybe.  But I wouldn't try!  I keep my meals to 4 ounces.  My forever diet plan says that most I should ever eat is 8 ounces.  I'm 10 months post-op right now.

Why are you eating so much?

9 Weeks Post Op, 2 ounces max. Usually 1.5 as it is more comfortable. I still need two protein shakes a day to get enough protein in.

I'll be honest, that's a whole lotta food at 15 months out.  I'm ahead of you by about 4 months and I can get in a cup of food or 4 oz. protein and a couple ounces of veggies.  And I will be feeling it at that point.

Make sure you are not eating to the point of feeling "full"...because that means you've eaten too much.

I'm 9 yrs out and it really depends on the food.

I'm good for 4-6oz of meat, and 3/4 cup veggies.

I just ate a 3oz.(wt.) thin cut pork chop topped with about 3oz.(volume) sliced zucchini and mushroom and I'm right there.....

I'm 5+ years out and have the same capacity since about the 6-8 months mark.

Thank u everyone for your responses. I have been measuring my food all day. And I'm only eating 6 ounces at a time. I had no idea I would be satisfied with that little of food. I feel foolish but so happy I asked! Now I hope I can get the rest of this weight off! I have 10 lbs to go until I'm at my goal weight. Thanks again!

I'm six months out and I don't think my capacity has increased all that much. I can eat:

2-3 ounces of dense protein like chicken or steak, by weight, and a bite or two of vegetables

3 ounces of fish, by weight, ditto re: vegetables

7 ounces of yogurt by volume
