First food stress test-passed so far.
On Thursday afternoon my 14 year old daughter was struck by a truck while crossing the street. She was flown to Children's Hospital in DC (mom flew with her). She sustained a broken arm, 4 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a broken foot.
As you can imagine it has been a very stressful time. I have been here almost every moment since then and every imaginable temptation is available. The cafeteria is filled with sodas, sweets, and carbs of every kind. When I am not here I am driving here (90 min each way).
I have been sticking to plan. I am even getting exercise. It is 1/2 mile round trip to the cafeteria and I am making like 5 trips a day down there to eat or get stuff for my daughter. A healing girl needs her ice cream!!
Congrats on how well you are doing. Best wishes for a full recovery for your daughter! :-)

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's accident! I'm glad she's getting good medical care and hope she has a speedy recovery.
I work in a hospital and one would think that there would be healthier food in their cafeterias - nope! So I feel your pain on this one :-(
Hang in there and keep making good choices. It's possible, just not easy!

Thanks for asking Gwen! She is still in the hospital. She had a bit of a set back with her chest tube so it is staying in a bit longer. We are hoping she is home by Friday. Today's commute down and back was 4.5 hours. Mom hasn't left since it happened, she is staying with her while I juggle the boys. This is probably the hardest thing I have ever done and if I can hold it together through this I am confident I can hold it together through other things.
