No survival tactics. Just wanted to let you know that I started my Liquid Pre-Op Diet yesterday with my first shake yesterday morning. Good news...I survived the first day. You will too! :-)

I am on day 6 of the pre-op liquid diet. I have done this before when I got the Lap-band and then in December when I was originally scheduled.

What helped me was the premier protein pre-made shakes. I bring one vanilla and one chocolate to wor****asionally, I'll use the nutribullet we have at work and I will add some ice and chia seeds (JUST for pre-op, since they can make you feel pretty full, my NUT gave the OK). It just feels like I'm having more.

I'm also a vegetarian, so at night for my one meal, I usually make soy beef crumbles (very low in calls and very high in protein, morningstar or boca are great) and i mix with some spaghetti squash and a little marinara sauce. it's awesome.

During the day, some celery (i know) and a little pack of cottage cheese is great to kind of make you hang on.

Other than tha****er! If you're looking for something kind of exotic (as exotic as one can get on this) try adding some of your protein shake to your coffee. You'll get the protein in and it'll be sweet. like a little pretend cappuccino.

One las thing. Hot sauce helps me. It might jus the me. But when I really need something, I add hot sauce to celery or just have a little taste of it. It kind of calms my hunger in a weird way.

Best of luck! We can totally do this. We've made it this far!

congrats, you're on your way! Today is my last day of pre-op diet, the next two days are clear liquids only till surgery, ack!

for me, the first few days were the most irritating. I got through it, but I wasn't thrilled in the least. about day 4 you get in the groove and feel like "I can do this!" :)

is your pre-op diet all liquids, or can you have veggies and proteins too? during that time I planned menus trying new recipes and veggies (different kale salads, sautéed rainbow chard) and lean proteins. I got a lot of fun out of that.

I also stayed glued to the boards, looking at inspiration pics, and getting myself excited for surgery. I also utilized the blog here to track my feelings about everything so I could look back on them later :)

have you taken your pre-op before pix, and measurements? its not fun, but it will be awesome to see how far you've come later.

good luck, you'll be "post op" in no time!

The pre op diet is the worst part of the entire thing. Just keep reminding yourself that if you can make it through the next two weeks, you'll be golden for surgery! Don't give up because it is tough! Just keep thinking about how much this is going to pay off and how much healthier you'll feel in a little while! Best of luck!!!!

WOW! Some of you get solids on the Pre-Op Diet? Mine is a protein shake three times a day with 1/2 cup cottage cheese or NF No Sugar Greek Yogurt. I can have broth too if I want. I am on Day 2 and doing OK. Maybe because the week before I was all Protein and Veggies and had my "Very Hungry" days that week. Best to all of us. Yes, we can do this! It will be worth it when we get our Sleeves! :-)

I am on day 9 of my liquid diet and it's just now getting to where I am okay. It was so hard the first 5 days. I was cranky because all I wanted to do was eat. I'm just ready to get all this over with and get my surgery next Wednesday!

Good luck! Day one not so bad, my plan is 3 shakes a day and a small sensible meal, and 2 small snacks!
