Fast Food?
Fast food isn't healthy for anyone in your family - so why not skip it all together?
Chicken strips are only a good option if they're grilled - not if they're breaded and fried.

Why no red meat!? I ate red meat as soon as I could eat purees, in fact my first meal was pureed roast beef. Sometimes I think nutritionist/surgeon's recommendations are just bonkers.
@ElizaM I was told by the nurse practitioner that red meat is harder to digest and needed to wait 6 months before eating.
As far as fast food goes, we don't eat it very often, but every now & again the family wants something quick and the only places near us are Sonic, Bush's Chicken, and Dairy Queen. So I opt for the least "worst" and get chicken strips from Bush's. Like I say, can only eat about 1 1/2 or 2 and I'm completely stuffed. Prior to surgery, I could eat 6 or 7 with no problem.
It is ok but I tell you subway is so much better because I can pick what I want in it and get all spinach and no iceberg.
I used to be a fast food junkie prior to surgery. Now most of it just turns me off. I prefer my own cooking, which is shocking in itself.
You can order a burger from In-N-Out "protein style" which wraps the meat in lettuce, not bread.
Wendy's chili is still a favorite of mine.
Grilled chicken strips are okay, not breaded. Most fast food restaurants offer salads often served with grilled chicken. I'll order those, eat the protein and a few of the vegetables without dressing.
