Insurance cut it close, but it's happening!

I just had to say that after rescheduling, getting a date and then almost having to reschedule again, I finally have approval. Getting the sleeve on 1/22 (two days). Insurance took FOREVER to "review" and that absolutely terrified me.

it's been a long and bumpy road. But, finally! And today I started the clear liquids. Difficult, but I just want surgery day to come, and let the healing and losing and healthy life changes begin! the silver lining is I was prepared back in december, and I've stayed prepared. So now I'm just READY!

best of luck to all my other 1/22 sleevers and thanks to everyone who has had such kind words along the way.

Any awesome tips for the clear liquid days? (other than just get through it in one piece)??

my hubby needed surgery  for cancer a bunch of years ago and was scheduled for Monday and he got a denial  on the Friday late afternoon  , the surgeons office went into battle mode and got it approved in hours (they had sent in the wrong code)

the surgery went great and he is doing great after 8 years and he was class 4

A similar thing happened. Then my company got involved and we actually changed insurance companies right before open-enrollment and added bariatric coverage to it!!! So I was home free... then the insurance company "didn't update their system". It was close! And I didn't want to ruffle any feathers for fear of them retaliating with a denial.

So glad your husband is now health. Crazy when all you want is a healthy life and there are so many hurdles. It makes the approval that much sweeter.

And! I must say, my surgeon and his team have been truly amazing and were a huge help as well.

Interesting! I gotta be totally clear for two whole days. I'm not a meat eater, so I had some veggie broth. I am also not into the "fake" additives like aspartame, so I have a hard time with Jell-o and sugar free anything.

I've read tons of your posts for what to take to the hospital. So I got my chap stick and loose clothes! I read your post about wearing a dress, so may freeze since it's jan in NYC haha but, I may try that!

Thanks for the encouragement. You're always so helpful and honest in your replies.

It sounds like you're well prepared :D  You might take loose sweat pants to wear under the dress?  (I think I did that - my surgery was in March and it was cold.  But I don't remember anymore!)
