3 Months Out...so many NSV's!

Yesterday was my 3 month surgiversary, but I wanted to wait to post until today because today I finally weigh what my driver's license says I do!!  It has been 5 years since that was the case and 10 years before that!  Needless to say I am very excited!!  My doctor took me off the PPI (says I don't need to take it anymore unless I have trouble...then as needed).  My NUT says to eat more (I've been keeping to 800 calories or less since surgery...she wants me at 1000-1200).  And in all of this....I have lost 72% of my excess body weight!  For those of us that have struggled with the scale and slow weight loss...that was a total surprise to me!  I have never intended to lose 100% of my excess weight (that's too small for my age and frame), but I am going for 90%, which they tell me is very doable.  On top of all of this...the clothes are fitting sooooo much better, the inches are falling off, I have energy like crazy, I don't snore anymore (hubby is very pleased with that), I sleep very soundly 7-8 hours every night, I fit into stadium seats, and my kids are finally starting to notice (they were not fans of the surgery, but have come around nicely!).  To anyone considering this surgery....best decision of my life (after my salvation and my husband!)  Best of luck to all!

Nice job!  I would just caution you about jumping up to 1000-1200 calories before you get to goal.  That type of increase in calories can throw you into maintenance.  Most NUTs aren't super-experienced with WLS patients and the whole 800 calorie thing freaks them the hell out.  Your energy and the way you feel seem to indicate that what you are doing is working and giving you lots of energy.

Thanks Tracy!  I'm not really ready to make that jump, but I was glad to know that I didn't have to worry about a day that I go over (has only happened twice in the past 4 months)!  I do feel great and have a good bit of energy...so I think I'm going with what got me here!  Protein first!!
