Hi guys! It's officially my 2nd week. I feel great and have lost quite a bit so far. The thing that's killing me is all of the "sweet" in the suggested full liquids. I'm not a big sugar person. My addiction was salt.

The protein shakes are sweet, Crystal Light, Jello, Pudding...everything!! Is there any protein enriched something I can have that's not sweet?? Blah!!!

I'm almost done with my first week of liquids.  I'm getting tired of the sweetness and milkiness too.  I bought light almond milk today and put half a cup in my protein shake and it cut the sweetness a lot.  I really liked it.  I'm going to GNC tomorrow to see if there is something else I can pick up.  I read something about PB2 that helps cut the sweetness but I can't find the post anymore.  Good luck to you.

Thank you! I will try it. I found the PB2 at Target. It really helped give a new flavor, still sweet but not as bad. :)

I'm 9 post-VSG and having the same issue.  My doctor recommended these soups to me (which aren't great but at least don't taste like artificial sugar.)  They have a ton of protein (15g.)  You can buy them on his site (the store at lapsf.com.)  Otherwise, he also suggested Protiwise (which you can get on Amazon.com & also has 15g of protein per serving.)  Because none of those taste "real", I've been eating Tabatchnick's frozen New York Style Chicken Broth - but straining out the noodles and carrots with a fine mesh strainer.  The other broths lacked flavor.  The Chicken Broth doesn't have a ton of protein, but it counts towards liquids and at least it has flavor that's not sweet!!

I'm on my pre-surgery full liquid week. My program allows Campbell's Healthy Request cream soups. Prepare as directed, but be sure to strain out the bits of chicken, mushrooms, etc, before eating. The soup can also be enriched with unflavored whey protein powder.

Didn't think about adding protein to the soup. I steered away from soup because right now all I can really get down is protein and fluids. The jello is my treat. But I'll try the soup with protein added.

Thanks you!

Broths would be a good option.  Or strained soups if you plan allows it.  I loved Panera French Onion soup during full liquids.  It was like liquid gold.

I also have a shake that I don't find to be as sweet as others and that helps me - optimum nutrition double rich chocolate.  It's a darker, more bitter chocolate.

Thank you, Gwen! That French Onion sounds so good to me right now. Where do you get the shakes?
