Volumizing Powder
So I went to the salon on Saturday and expressed my concern to my stylist about my thinning hair. I told her I really didn't want to have to cut it, that my so called "volumizing" moose doesn't work, and I hate teasing my hair to get volume because my hair gets snarled enough on it's own and it's a pain to comb it out. She suggested that I use a powder to give my hair volume. Once you have dried your hair and styled it the way you want all you do is part your hair a couple times on each side and in the back and sprinkle the powder directly on the roots. Then you rub it in and you'll see that if you scrunch up or push up your hair at the roots, it'll STAY! It gives your hair the volume you desire and makes it look thicker. I always straighten my hair with a flat iron which makes it look thinner than it is so if I add the powder it looks more like I blew out my hair with a hair dryer rather than using the straightener. It looks FAB!
Since thinning hair is such a hot topic for everyone, I thought I'd share my find. Best part is, it's cheep! It comes in a small bottle but it'll last you a long time because it's just powder and a little goes a long way. Sorry to sound like I'm giving a sales pitch. I just think it's amazing.
**Note - This will NOT make your hair grow or stop thinning. This is just a beauty secret that I'm sharing with all of you who are experiencing hair thinning like me (even though my stylist thinks it's all in my head).

Thank you so much for posting this! It is very helpful and I love how specific your directions are. I assume I will be in the need of this in coming months.

I've used that in the past and it's pretty cool. I get longer results from a good tacky paste that I rub in my hands and rub into my roots sparingly. It gives me long lasting volume and piecy texture all day - sometimes two days worth. I've always had lifeless baby fine hair, so I'm very well practiced at hair illusions.

Here it is on Amazon. Its pricey, but you only use a pea-sized amount at a time so it lasts for months.
