Leaving my comfort zone

My weight is finally low enough that I was able to sign up for Stitch Fix.  I've been eyeing this service for a while, and eagerly waiting for my weight to get where it needed to be to start.  But then I just stared at the style profile and felt lost and clueless.  I don't know what my style is.  I don't know what my sizes are.  I don't know what colors or prints or anything I want to wear!  I feel utterly clueless about clothes.  So I emailed the company and got an AMAZING response and now I'm super excited.  My first "Fix" will arrive on the 12th.  It's like working with a personal stylist without having to go to the mall or a store :)

I really want to get outside of my comfort zone, though.  I think that's my overarching goal for this year.  "Get out of the comfort zone."

And on that same trend, I met with a Dance Movement Therapist on Sunday and have my first session scheduled for the 10th.  I've been feeling very detached and disassociated from my body for the last many, well, months if I'm honest.  It's gotten to the point where I'm scared because I know that dysmorphia is at the end of this continuum I'm on.  So I talked with my regular therapist about it and she suggested DMT.  I'm hopeful that it will give me whatever it is that I'm lacking right now and help get me moving in the right direction.  Again, this is something completely outside of my comfort zone to do, but my comfort zone clearly isn't very comfortable right now!

Stitch Fix is fun!  I used it when I got into the 12/14 size range.  I loved the different things they gave me that I wouldn't have chosen myself.  I did find it a tad bit expensive b/c I was still changing sizes.  But it is ALOT of fun :)  enjoy!

I think I really need to start getting nice pieces of clothes for my new body, even if I don't want to spend the money.  I feel like it's something that might help me get used to me?

Oh wow. I've never heard of Stitch Fix but I just looked it up and it seems like a great idea.  I'll consider doing something like that when I get closer to my goal.  I would love to hear how you liked the clothes that they send to you.  Keep me updated.

I can't wait to try Stitch Fix!! I feel like I wear a uniform every day: jeans, shirt and a sweater or jacket. Every day. I think pushing yourself out of the comfort zone is excellent and I am so happy for you to try new things. Let me know how it goes!!!

That's the way I'm feeling too - like I wear the same uniform every day!  In my case it's a boho skirt and t-shirt, and I've been doing the same thing since April or May!  I'm hoping that a few new garments will help me out :)

Good for you venturing out of your comfort zone. Have fun with your new body.

Hadn't heard of Stitch Fix. Will check em out.

And good luck with the dance therapy. This is a strange head trip we're on.

Two of my co-workers do it and love it.  I don't know why, I am gun shy about buying new clothes.  Old fears I guess.  I do have an appointment with my therapist this month - and have to address that as well as the fact that I really have no realistic view of what I really look like.  My mind has not caught up with my body and I am totally focused on my stomach skin and not the fact that I'm pretty small now (at least that's what people tell me, lol).  I am planning on a new spring/summer wardrobe and have money tucked away to hit the outlets next month.  Looking forward to that!  Have fun.  From what I understand you have the freedom to send items back so there's no losing any money unless you don't keep something.  Enjoy!
