I am about 5 days late posting this but it has been exactly one year since I walked into my surgeons office for a consult. He immediately put me on a pre-op liquid diet and the rest is history.

So a year "by the numbers"

Weight: 537 → 263 (274lbs lost)

Waist Size: 72 → 44 (I can buy clothes at Costco, Target, or basically any normal store)

Shirt Size: 6x → 2x

Shoe Width: 6E-> M

A1C: 10.7 → 5 (no meds)

AHI (sleep apnea): 89 → 28

BP: 140/90 → 126/72 (no meds)

Exercise: 0 → 5 days a week (recently dropped from 6)

How far I can walk: Maybe a 1/4 mile → 10 miles in day (really haven't found the upper limit yet)

Airplane Seats Required: 2 → 1.

Comments I hear from little kids now: 0

It has been an awesome year. I had no complications from surgery but did have my gallbladder out about a month ago. I am looking forward to what the next year brings.

Holy cow! The difference overall is remarkable, but what really struck me was the difference in your A1C levels. What a positive change you have made in your life. Just imagine how many years this year has added to your life. I remember the day that I could once again buy clothes off of a rack without going in to try them on. It was a good day for me (bad, bad day for my bank account!).

Congratulations!

Absolutely fabulous.

It is nice to look at a little kid and wonder what horror is about to come out his/her mouth.
