Bon Bini from Aruba! It is windy, warm and kind of cloudy here this morning. It has been that way the last couple of days. In some ways it is nice not to have the sun beating down, but a bit more would be good. It is definitely more windy than usual as our friend couldn't finish his sand sculpture yesterday. It collapsed 3 times in the wind so he decided to stop.

QOTD: When are you the most hungry (time of day) and do you have a strategy to plan for that? I am not usually that hungry in the morning. My appetite ramps up from late afternoon to bedtime. So I try to plan my snacks for that time of the day. I'm still struggling with head hunger I think (even at over 2 years from WLS).

2 Years, 2 months post-op (maintaining at goal for 18 months)

Always lots of coffee...

B: Eggs scrambled with cottage cheese

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Some kind of fish - going out to a nice new restaurant owned by the couple who runs the restaurant at our resort here (which is quite good).

ES: Turkey pepperoni

Thank you for your concern for DH btw. He was much more oriented yesterday and we had an excellent time eating dinner and chatting on our patio last night.

Good morning Liz and menu crew. Great that you are starting us off from Aruba! Enjoy the time away. So Envious. We are thinking of doing a cruise next year. We met some friends on Vacation a few years ago and have been vacationing together since. They are an easy going, go with the flow type couple as are my wife and I and we enjoy going on vacation as no one is a Type A that feels the need to lead the group at all times. We switch off choosing the destination, looks like we will be going on a cruise. We also have the option of using a Beach house in the Grand Caymans ( no charge for use of beach house). I am a little nervous about doing that? Not sure why?

QOTD - In the evening when I slow down, it is not real hunger, definite head hunger, though we know how real that can feel.

B - Protein shake

S - Glazier hot dog

L - Chicken salad

S - cheese stick and cheese whisps

D - Unsure as we are attending a scholarship dinner for my son Ryley and all Senior Golfers ( I am thinking it will be spaghetti and salad).A few years ago A local family lost their son a year after his graduation , he was a golfer. They hold a big golf tourney in his honor and give all Senior members of the golf team a scholarship. It is a very moving tribute and I think it is a wonderful way to carry on his memory.

Last Saturday I was busy from the minute I got up - and realized that I had not eaten nor felt hunger at all - so I think I still have alot of head hunger.

I also already have vacation brain - and vacation is like 10 days away! Not good. I'm trying to get everything together for my July 4th cousin get together since I am away June 23-30 - and pretty much have to have things in order before I go.

B: kashi mixed with yogurt - good but very filling

L: salad with turkey breast

D: chicken on the grill with peppers, onions and salsa

E: walk - hit 10K steps yesterday early in the day thanks to a new walking route we take at lunch and walking the dog at home put me over 12K by the end of the day

L/V: good

I am just starting to do a decent job of recognizing head hunger. I don't think I can bani**** but I hope by recognizing it I can figure out strategies to cope with it. A lot of it seems to be related to location (returning home in the late afternoon or walking into the kitchen) and also time of day (especially the evening).

We are going to a new restaurant tonight - I will report back!

I am horrible at night, when I stop moving, I am working very hard to not introduce any snacks and only drink water when the head hunger arrives for its nightly visit.
