I am 4.5 months out and just had my 3 month appointment with my nurse and nutritionist (they are behind). What I came away with is you have to do what works for you. I listen to those who have been through what I am going through and have lost the weight and kept it off. The feedback I got was some good but the frustrating part was I was told I wasn't eating enough and I need to eat more carbs. I am never hungry, I get 60-70 g of protein per day and 64 oz of water (I'm 5'2"). My blood work was perfect and I am down 80 pounds from surgery and 112 total weight loss.

My point is don't get too hung up on what they tell you at your center. Sure you have to follow the rules but remember every center is different. I eat under 650 calories a day and under 30 g of carbs. Some nice person posted this a while ago and I have followed it and it works. Thank you to whoever did as I can't remember.

0-3 months -- focus was on protein -- at least 65 to 70 per day. My calories were always under 500 and my carbs were under 30.

3 to 6 months -- protein 80 or above. Calories under 650 with carbs under 30.

6 to 12 months -- protein 85 or more. Calories under 700 with carbs under 35.

12 months to 2 years -- protein 85 or more. Calories under 800 with carbs under 40.

maintenance (currently at 3 years & 4 months) -- Protein between 70 and 90 -- Calories under 1100 with carbs under 40.

Hope this helps!

Don't worry about your CALORIE INTAKE worry about your protein. As long as you're getting the required protein than you are good. Potatoes are on my meal plan as well (Must have Dr.Suh) just like they say PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN!!! It seems like you're doing good so stop focusing on calories. Follow the plan YOUR DR GAVE YOU & get in your walking. If you're still concern when you have your one month Post-Op talk to your Doctor. Or call your Nurse that's what they're there for. Good Luck & keep up the good work. YOU GOT THIS!

Absolutely normal. I'm 10 months out and there are days when getting 800 calories is difficult although, with careful planning, I usually get around 1000.
