It's just an issue of eating too many calories. If you are following the diet closely, you'll need a better diet.

Weighing and logging every bite of food in an app like MyFitnessPal is the only way to ensure your calories aren't creeping up.

You still have th e tool to help you do this. But it gets harder the farther out you are.

I agree with Grim. Be honest with yourself about how much you are eating. Measure and track every bite. Make better choices. You can do this but it does take work.

Hard to hear, but you have been in maintenance for 7 months without reaching your goal weight.

You can do this, but you have to buckle up and go for it: weigh and log EVERYTHING that passes your lips. I think you'll be surprised by how much you are eating and how many calories. I had regain and was able to lose it +++ on 1200 calories a day (you may need to go as low as 800, depending on your RMR). Meat, fish, seafood, dairy and non starchy vegetables - no extras, no little bites etc.

Join the daily menu thread and post your menu and calories for accountability is my best advice. Support and camaraderie are invaluable!

I lost 61lbs in 10 months - at 14.5 years out - you can do this if you try!

I couldn't agree more with this, Kim! I mean, I slid into the habit of using my BF's flavored coffee creamer. Well, it's like 35 calories a tablespoon. And I was probably using 3-4 tablespoons (eyeballing it, not measuring it). So I had more than 10% of my daily calories in my freaking coffee. Everything adds up!

Original poster, buy a food scale on amazon.com. A digital scale. I am five years out and I have realized that I must remain vigilant. Each morning, I put my plate on the scale, register how much it weighs, and then add my deli meat to measure exactly 4 ounces. Otherwise, I eat too much.

You can do this but it takes effort!

What, exactly, are you eating each day? Give us an example of your daily meal plan so we can troubleshoot.

If you aren't already, start by weighing/measuring every single thing you put in your mouth and logging it with something like MyFitnessPal.

For breakfast I normally have a premier protein shake about twice a week I will have an scrambled egg or a 4oz bowl of oatmeal plain with diet sugar. Lunch is 4 oz cup of soup or a protein shake depends if I am at home or on the go I carry protein shakes with me when I go out for supper it is a very small piece of meat 2 to 3 bites of veggies sometimes 2 to 3 bites of potatoes. the dietitian told me the meat should be the size of my palm but it usually smaller around 3 oz plus I have a night time snack of 1/2 cup unsalted popcorn or 4 crackers with cheese as ordered by my diabetic doctor to keep from having night time lows tried peanut butter but can not hold it down. I also use MyFitnessPal the free version never eat the cal it tells me to eat it has me at 1200 cals a day I eat about 700 a day on a good day and I do not hold half my food down I lose a lot of it when I eat. just had a Linx put in do to acid reflux.

my dietitian went over my meals and she has me take pictures of them and bring them in once a month and tells me my body is gone into starvation mode when I seen her today and it will cause me to gain before I start to lose again I pray not. plus she wants me checked for cushings to see if that might be the problem.

Starvation mode us not real. It's just a load of crap. People around the world starve to death every day. They lose and lose, become literally skin and bones. They dont stay overweight or even obese. It works the same for us.

First off ditch the oatmeal, potatoes, popcorn, crackers they are nothing but slider foods and offer no Protein at all. You need to find something else that will help with your night time lows.

You should be eating protein forward meals and if you have room a little veggies. At this point there really is no need for protein shakes

Your dietitian is very wrong in saying you have gone into starvation mode. It is a myth when it comes to weight loss.

Are you weighing and measuring things out or are you just eyeballing it? Also what do you mean by "I do not hold down half of my food"? Are you vomiting every time you eat? Which is not a good thing either.

Unfortunately Grim and the others are right. It really comes down to how much you are truly eating.

You can still lose the weight, but you have to be honest with yourself and work the tool you have been given.
