Just wondering if you can have homemade chicken broth as opposed to the store bought salt licks in a box, can't hardly stomache them, but Would like something warm in my belly that sort of is like real food!

Did you not get Optifast soups?  I only got to drink 4 shakes and one soup a day... no broth... not enough nutrients in it...

I would check with your doctor to be sure, but you should be able to do that with no problem. Good luck on your surgery. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

You can do really homemade broth.

I would recommend adding Unjury Chicken Broth powder to it to increase the protein. It tastes good. Just make sure you keep the broth below 130 degrees after you add the Unjury or it get chunky from the protein.

Good luck,
Lisa

I have done Optifast before (lost 100 lbs) and did make my own broth. It's healthier with less sodium too.

I made my own homemade chicken broth in preparation for surgery.  It was on our approved food list for those first couple of weeks after surgery.  I let it cool and then poured it up in ice cube trays and froze it.  That way I used 1 cube at a time, which was about my capacity then anyway, place it in a coffee mug and nuke it.  Yum.
