Syntrax Nectar contents

I drink several flavors of the Syntrax Nectar products so after the Consumer Reports article a few weeks ago, I decided to inquire about the heavy metals in their products and asked for a recent Certificate of Analysis and their policy on heavy metal screening.

Their reply was a public statement saying they had a 3rd party lab test their product and the levels of in their products are well below the maximum levels set by the USP.  The told me the USP levels, but not their levels.    ETA:   I have posted the public statement in my pictures in my profile.

I replied back that I needed more specific information on what I in a product that I drink regularly and that I wanted a recent Certificate of Analysis and your policy on heavy metal screening.

Their second reply:
The public statement provided by our company was based on recent testing by a well known and reputable third party laboratory which indicated undetectable levels of heavy metals in our products.  Certificates of analysis are tools used by our company to confirm products conform to our exacting standards and are not supplied to the public.  I hope this explanation helps to reassure you.

I am not at all satisfied with this answer.  Consumers have long been lied to and duped by companies that are protecting their bottom line.  i replied back that their answer was not satisfactory, but apparently the guy went home for the weekend.

So, does anyone know of a lab that I can get the analysis done so I can see for myself what is in it?  Any idea on what it would cost?

A few years ago there was an issue with the Chinese supplied gluten in dog food killing dogs and the dog food companies were MUCH more cooperative with customers wanting information.   I know that some people did get independent tests done when they were not given information.

Because of the stonewalling I am getting from them, my radar is on alert that there is something going on here that consumers should know.

Anyone else tried to get such information from Syntrax or any other whey protein MFG?
Anyway, I

Your profile is private, we can not see your findings.  I don't think they are required to give thier levels as long as the levels are below the allowable standards.  Syntrax makes a wonderful protein.  Did you do all this research to the food you were eating prior to surgery?  I would be more afraid of eating that Big Mac than drinking Syntrax.

amen... there's a lot of stuff whose ingredients would be give us all the heebeejeebees.

I didn't read much about the consumer reports article. Were many of the proteins they tested made exclusively with Whey Protein Isolate?

The response said that there wasn't a detectable level of heavy metals. Without giving specifics, that sounds pretty specific.

I love syntrax proteins... I do the matrix more than the nectar now that I'm maintaining.

The public statement (my profile is now open for you to see it) did not say that the levels were not detectable.  It says they are "well below" the maximum allowable levels.  Define "well below"?

My issue:   they state that if you consume the recommended amount of the product daily, you will consume levels lower than the maximum allowable of heavy metals.  Well, I consume more than they recommend.  One serving for me is 1.5. scoops not one.  Sometimes I have 2 shakes a day, not one.  So potentially I am consuming 3X what they believe I am consuming.  So am I still now BELOW the recommended daily levels of heavy metals?

While I only do one scoop per shake I do sometimes have four shakes a day. The second statement you posted seemed to say undetectable. I might have misread.

Huh?  how does my lack of research on Big Macs pre surgery in any way shape or form justify that now I should blindly eat foods that are supposed to be good for me?  Since I do not each Big Macs why should I be afraid of what is in them???

I am working on being a healthier person that actually puts thought and concern inot what I now consume.

I opened my profile so you can see the public statement I received.

The best advice I can give you is to investigate another quality product that you like, perhaps more than one other.  Then add variety to your daily intake.  Too much of a good thing is often not good.
