Post-op full liquids: how much??

My surgeon gave me guidelines to follow for the post-op diet. Basically, broth, cream soups, cream of wheat, SF jello, SF pudding, SF popsicles, protein drinks, SF yogurt.

I'm also supposed to get in like 60 grams of protein!

So, my question is, if my pouch is now the size of a golf ball and holds 2 oz, how much am I supposed to be eating every day?

3 meals of 1/4 cup each? It doesn't say on the sheet I got.

These are the instructions my NUT gave me:
Sip no more than 2-3 oz max. Stop when full if less than 2-3 oz
Drink 1-2 oz of protein supplement per hour

Sample meal plan:
Breakfast  - 2-3 oz yogurt *add unflavorded protein powder
Mid-Morning - 2-3 oz proten supplement
Lunch - 2-3 oz strained or creamy soup with protein powder
Afternoon - 2 oz protein shake/supplement
Supper - 2-3 oz strained or creamy soup with protein powder and 1/2 cup sugar free pudding or Jell-O
Snack - 2-3 oz protein shake/supplement

Don't know if this helps any.

Wow, I  thought that you were reading off my post-op plan

and you ARE! that's my surgeon

The suggestion above sounds really good, and I'd go with it.

I pretty much was sipping on liquids all day, and having three to six 2 oz "meals" during my three-week full liquid stage

Dr. J is a real artist with what he does to your innards. You're in good hands.

Ocean and Lady Lithia are right.  doing small meal of 3 to 6 2oz "meals" is great and using a sippy cup will help you to learn to sip your liquids slow and not goulp them.  There are sometimes signs like your noise running, sneezing and coughing when you are full.  I coughed in the begining but now I stop when I have my 4 ozs.  I measure my meals out in a 4 oz rubbermaid container so I know I have 4 ozs of anything I eat now.  I am almost 9 weeks out and am doing great.  still can't eat a whole lot of things but I keep trying.  As long as I get 64 ozs of water and 60 ozs of protein or more I am doing pertty good.  Keep up the good work.  You will get it down.  It takes time.  Like they say "Rome was not built in a day".  Good luck
