Hi Maria -
Nice mix on the food.  Try not to overdo things with work.  Remember that you are still recovering, so don't push yourself more than you are capable of right now.  Get to sleep early tonight ... you will have a long day tomorrow!

I like that your journal also has a section on "mood".  While I like sparkpeople.com, two shortfalls in my opinion are (1) you cannot write what time you ate the item and (2) you cannot reflect your mood.  That information is good to record in case you are having a lot of emotional eating.

Another good eating day!  I purposely had more calories and carbs today.  I don't want to get my body too used to too few carbs.

I'm having pain in my shoulders and arms ..... not sure what's going on, unless its just "getting old" syndrome.  I've starting using the arm "shaker" to try to add a little strength to them. My arms don't get much exercise, more reason for me to hit the gym.  However, walking and dancing has been my main source of exercise.  I walked 4 miles again today, and usually do that Monday - Friday.

Eats:

B:  4 oz. talapia, 2 eggs, 1 slice bread with 1 T. honey

L:   4 oz. chicken on extreme fiber tortilla

S:   4 oz. fatfree cottage cheese & no sugar added peaches

D:   Subway club salad with fat free dressing, 4 saltines

Totals:

1,023 calories
29 fats
77 carbs
112 proteins

Is there anything that you may be doing differently to cause the pain in the arms and shoulders?  Did you change your purse or add a lot to it?  Change sleeping position?  Carry laptop, etc?  Those things can sometimes cause pain in my shoulder area.

I have the shaker weight too ... it is more interesting than regular weights.

Nancy,

I've had this pain in my shoulders/arms for quite a while now, but have just been dealing with it, so I don't think its anything I'm doing other than possibly sitting behind a computer alot.  Sometimes we don't realize how much we slump and don't hold our shoulders back when we're sitting.  I've been taking Lorecet in the evenings to control it; however, I'm trying to get away from that because Tylenol isn't good for us.  Dang ... we can't take NSAIDS, and too much Tylenol just isn't a good thing!  I occasionally take an Ibuoprofen, but always take a Prilosec with it.  That is what my surgeon told me to do. This pain in no way compares to the pain I had pre-surgery from the weight bearing down on my joints, so I try not to complain much.

I used to have pain in my shoulders really bad.  My trainer and I started doing exercises to streghten my shoulders and the pain has gotten a lot better.  They used to pop a lot too, but they don't do that as much either.  Hopefully, the stronger they get the better they will get.

Still trying to get back on track with my eating. I do well for awhile then something comes up and I end up making poor choices. My mood is also up and down. Did really well exercising today. Ran for 9 minutes, 30 minutes on the stepper and bike, 30 minutes playing kickball with the boys, did 30 minutes twice (60 min) fitness tape with the girls and then after school I did 32 minutes on the elliptical
Still need to do better eating but I will get there.

B-2 scrambled eggs , mushrooms and ketchup, Also had 3 pieces of licorice which was a bad choice
S=orange
L-chicken breast, green beans and corn (not a good choice), 1 sugar free chocolate mint
S-orange, and a protein shake after exercising, a few almonds
D-shrimp, shrimp sauce, and a salad

Still having some issues with being dizzy after exercising
Did well with waters.

I hope to keep posting but need to work through this moodiness or I need to go get some meds or talk to someone.
