Debating goal.

Had an rny 21 months ago and have lost a great deal of weight and am 8 lbs lower than the goal I set with the surgeon.  I started Weigh****chers last year to get the last of my weight off and give me  a sense of accountability for what I eat and have done very well.  I've got  12 lbs to go for their goal.  The maximum weight for my height is 132  and had originally pick 130 lbs to get to.  What I'm debating is whether I shoot for 130 or change my goal to 132.  What does everybody think?  Also,  I'm in the process of getting pre- approval for a panniluctomy because my excess skin is causing medical problems.  If I had that done right now,  I would be really under goal.  Thanks for listening.

I think 2 lbs isn't going to make any difference at all except in your own feeling of accomplishment.  I'm not making fun of you.  I was the exact same way.  Then I was 125 it was so important for me to get to 120 even though it doesn't make a wit of difference in my clothing sizes or anything.  It is just a numbers game, kind of like hitting the high score on a video game.  My life hasn't changed a bit since I hit my goal.  I am even wearing the same clothes I always did.  I just felt better about it, like I did what I set out to do.
When you have your skin removal this will probably all be moot anyway since you have lost so much weight you probably have a great deal of excess skin and will probably exceed any goal you may have set anyway.

My doc set my goal at 160. I knew the day I got under 200 I had hit the jackpot!!! I figured if I EVER got under 170 I would celebrate and be satisfied. I have stabilized at between 155-160 and I am fine with it. I could surely loose more, but the doc said actually said do not loose more. I can see where I would like to loose it, but I am just sooo thankful to be where I am.
It is your goal... you choose. However I might suggest you wait til you have the pani removed and readjust your goal.
Good luck

I set my WW goal at the TOP of my range -- and I live about 5 pounds below that.

The faster you get to WW goal, the faster you get to stop paying them.

So, even though my personal goal was 150, I set my WW goal at 155 -- (which allows me to be up to 157) --- and I got the Lifetime and now maintain between 148 and 153.

I like the way you think!  I'm going to talk to my lecturer on Saturday and raise it to the very top range of 132 instead of 130.  After I have my panni.  I'll be about 13 lbs underweight.  That's OK with me.  I like the idea of not having to pay them anymore.

To maintain Lifetime status, you cannot be
1.  more than 2 pounds above your goal weight
2.  more than 2 pounds below the healthy weight for your height ---

for me, my range is 122 - 155 ---- so, I have to weigh in each month between 120-157
There is no chance that I will ever get to 120 (and I would not want to with my frame).

Sounds like you will have to maintain between 109 - 134.

Unfortunately for me,  I'm short like my mother (I'm only 5'1)  but I've got my fathers' bone structure and built like I could be a full back for the Steelers. Damn these little tree stumps of mine. (that's a saying around here referring to short stubby legs)  If I go to 130, that's very doable for me.  I would be thin but not anarexic.  The thing that I am wondering about is I'm trying to get approved for is a panni because I have several medical problems due to my excess skin.   If I have a goal weight of 132  and have the operation,  I would then possibly weigh between 112 and 117.
