Drinking too fast - not getting protein ??

Only about 5 weeks out, noticed today that I drank my non-fat starbucks latte (12oz) in about an hour. Is this too fast to benefit from the full 12g protein in the milk ? am I flushing it through too fast and need to slow down. I remember reading in one of the docs I was given that 4oz an hour was the goal but I cant remember if that was just in the first week or so...

any thoughts?

thanks
Rich

I can't speak about RNY since I have lapband but doesn't seem like it would flush out.  Thought the 4 oz an hour was just to make sure you got enough in you.  What do I know.  Hope some with RNY reply so you will know.  Take care,
Z

Relax, chances are you're just fine. That's one ounce in five minutes, or right around a teaspoon per minute. No problem. The 4 oz. per hour is about hydration and is a minimum.

For the most part, nutrients are absorbed in your intestines, not your stomach. (The stomach is for breaking down food.)

If you can drink fast, just be thankful. I'm almost 3 years out and I still can't guzzle water like I did pre-op.
