horrific pain

I am coming up on my three year mark of GPS and I have NEVER felt pain like I have this evening. I was eating raisen bran and somehow must have swallowed some air - I had this HORRIFIC gas pain in my stomache and I tell you the truth when I say death would have been easier. I tried to make myself throw up to give this gas bubble some more room. It did subside after about two hours of the WORST HORRIFIC TERRIBLE pain. I found some gasX dissolving strips and took a few of those - don't know if that is what helped or if it was just time. I am so hungry so I just tried to eat something. The pain has come back but not as severe.

I couldn't even stand up straight earlier. I stretched all different ways (with great pain) trying to get this gas bubble to burst.

Now after just eating something, the pain is back, although not as horrific, still very unpleasant.

I don't ever want to eat again, is how I feel.

Anyone experience this ever?

Suggestions?

There's a gentleman on another group I frequent who had a similar miserable, awful bellyache. It subsided some, then came back again. ER was suggested and he went.

Good thing he went. It was a heart attack.

I highly recommend that you get this checked out, sooner rather than later. A LOT of heart attack patients were absolutely convinced they had heartburn or gas.

Please just go to the ER, and have them rule out any scary stuff. I have trouble believing a bubble could cause that kind of pain, so if it were me, I'd need to know. I hope you feel better.

Go to the ER---among other things, you could have an intermittent bowel obstruction. Left untreated long enough, this can kill you.

I agree with Ms. Batt....when I had pain , intense pain, after eating, it was indeed a bowel obstruction. It happened about 16 months after the initial RNY. I waited to go to the ER , hoping it would pass, trying to be stoic.  It became very dangerous.

Gallbladder also comes to mind, and heart attacks in women can often cause stomach, jaw or back pain, among other things.

Any pain that takes your breath away should garner IMMEDIATE attention.

Please take care, and let us know how you are when you are able.

Yes, it happened to me.

Go to the doctor.  Please.  This is nothing to play with.

I would definitely get that checked out soon. Very soon.Even if you don't have a gall bladder, you can get awful chest pains from sludge in your bile ducts. That happened to me once and ended up in the hospital with it. Fortunately it resolved on its own, but sometimes medical intervention is needed to treat it.
