Now yall, we should not cast stones.Who among us hasn't had something deep fat fried or a sugary sinful dessert? ANYONE? Most of us do partake in the yumminess of life sometimes. The key is moderation. We don't know if she is eating the stuff she cooks in moderation or not, and it isn't our place to put her in her place.
I wouldn't wish that horrid disease on anyone, nor would I accuse someone of "asking" for it....genetics AND lifestyle play a role in it.
Let's do what we can to protect ourselves from it. If she profits from it by creating some diabetic cookbook or a diet plan or whatever, more power to her. She is a business woman, and she is in the business to MAKE MONEY. Money I'd take in a heartbeat if I had something to sell!
And BTW, I am not a PD fan...she actually grates on my nerves....I find her accent a bit too "overdone" and I hate her fake smile. I do like some of her recipes though, and anything I've tried has come out beautifully.

Thank you. I was disgusted how PD was being mocked here for having a disease that countless OH members here cope with every day.

I don't have Type II Diabetes from my food choices and I don't make money from my food choices.
Hence, I feel perfectly free to cast stones.

I guess I am in the minority. I love Paula Deen. I have been to her restaurant a few times and met her son Bobby (very humble by the way). I have made some of her recipes but not many (some of the recipes are just plain wackadoodle). I love watching her show though. I agree about the DS. I think that would be good for her since she is in the food business and will be eating and tasting a lot of high fat/high sugar/high calorie foods. I wonder if anyone in her circle has mentioned the DS to her and if she would even consider it. Also I dont mind if she makes money off of her diagnosis. I think it would be nice if she created a cookbook and a new show about healthy eating. And I do agree with her statement about eating in moderation. But we all know eating in moderation is not an easy thing to accomplish.
