Paula Deen Has Diabetes. PS. SO WHAT?

She needs to get hubby on a weight loss plan too.  I occasionally watch her show and I have one of her cookbooks.  I took a Cheesecake recipe of hers and made it healthy.  Some things she cooks were sickening to me before I had surgery.  Frying Twinkies and Snickers is just nasty.

The woman really needs to cut back on the "butta" and sugar.  No one needs all that rich food.

She was on Dr. Oz's show a few months ago and no mention of diabetes.  I'm sure she will make a fortune off it.

Maybe she didn't feel like mentioning it knowing she might get slammed by the general public.

And others could use the opportunity to apoligize for being mean to her...

 You tell her!

 I agree It is her health and her medical issues and they are PRIVATE . If she chooses  to make them public her choice.

 Lord above... I wore a size 3 X   when at the Local bakery  I sure as heck didn't scream  " HELLO I'm  277 Pounds , a DIABETIC  and am buying the Most decadent cake in the Bakery"!  Come on folks! WHOSE Business was it? BTW ... I would of laid you odd's Pre op... I would have eaen...most of it.  Am I poud, NO ... is it the truth, YES! 

 We are only responsible for our bodies, what we do with them ,  what we eat and our actions ...  No one Else's. That's Just my thoughts!!  Post Op , same deal! Our Bodies, Our choices .. and we are responsible for our failure or success.  Compassion in this life, a Smile and Kindness GO a LONG way!  When it is us and we are the one NEEDING  Kindness, compassion  and a smile .... I pray GOD... we get it!    

Was Paula obligated to mention she's diabetic to anyone?  I just don't see why it's such a big deal that she is diabetic and/or that she may (or will) make money off of her illness.

Do any of us walk around spewing all of our health issues to the world (oh I guess some do and to you, that's YOUR business)?  How would we feel if in Paula's shoes right now?  It's her business, her health and I do wish her the best in controlling it; however, seeing some on this thread suggesting Paula should have brought this to the publics attention 3 years ago (or some generic time frame) is absolutely ridiculous.  OR, making suggestions she needs to get her weight and/or eating options in control!!  

Again, is it OUR business?  How did you feel before WLS when someone judged you because of obesity or whatever reason actually?  How do you feel today when someone judges you for whatever reason?

It's.NOT.our.Business.Period.


Really, think about it.....she is being judged by former obese people; gotta love hypocrisy.

Dana, I absolutely agree.  She had no obligation to tell anyone about her condition. 

Just as the public is under no obligation to cook her recipes just as written without making changes to suit our own lifestyles.
