Poem to share

The great affair, the love affair with life,
is to live as variously as possible,
to groom one's curiosity like a high-spirited thoroughbred,
climb aboard, and gallop over the thick, sun-struck hills every day.

Where there is no risk, the emotional terrain is flat and unyielding,
and, despite all its dimensions, valleys, pinnacles, and detours,
life will seem to have none of its magnificent geography, only a length.
It began in mystery, and it will end in mystery,
but what a savage and beautiful country lies in between.
~ Diane Ackerman ~     ("found poetry" from A Natural History of the Senses)

"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls the butterfly." Richard Bach

"Support fosters your growth. If you are getting enough of the right support, you will experience a major transformation in yourself. You will discover a sense of empowerment and peace you have never before experienced. You will come to believe you can overcome your challenges and find some joy in this world." Katie Jay

Nice post. There used to be a Friday Haiku thread posted somewhere on OH back in the day. Thanks for posting.

Here is a poem for you Anne

There once was a pom named Anne
whom the mods refused to ban
Now OH is lead by a dog
All the newbies are in a fog
And they are running to proboards
 as fast as they can.

The spirit of your poem makes me feel sad. I don't see the point of it. It certainly isn't supportive, given where I was coming from in posting the original poem.
