Just curious...With the price of gas rising...Will some of you be riding your bicycles to the store, bank, or coffee shop??  I have done this for about 5 years now (see profile pictures).  I love it...It's my away time.  I do less when the weather is cold, but am looking forward to the rides coming up!!

I don't own a bike.  the seats are too small for my butt, plus bending over to hold handlebars hurts my lower back.

I wish I could but besides the fact that I dont remember how to ride one - it has been over 30 years since I rode one and with all the arthritis riden through my body, I am lucky I can walk most days.

I do it all the time.  I just rode it today to the store.  I have a basket in the front and two in the back but I am still limited about how much I can buy but I love it.  No parking hassles, which I hate, and I get some exercise, too.  I usually hit 3 or 4 stores in the neighborhood to save money and this way I'm not losing money on gas to save money on groceries.

I am so looking forward to bike season again! I remember the first couple rides you took back in the day, I remember mine too!. We have came a long ways!

I have outdoor walking, riding, jumping etc.. kind of plans. I think that is what keeps me going in the winter, is making my plans :)

I have my all geared up bike for longer distances and my new coaster bike for around town. Both equipped with a bell and a basket.. Can't you just hear the Wizard of Oz tune in the background? Both my bikes have wider/gel padded seats to help protect my ever so sore tailbone.

Happy almost spring!!

I ride to and from work daily, so that saves gas, insurance and parking!

I tend to walk  around the neighbourhood if I`m getting a few things..however, I do find that I usually end up getting more than a few things if  at the grocery store, so drive there..even though only 2 blocks away!  The other stores..drug, mall, etc... I walk!

For people that want to ride but find it difficult, look at the recumbant bikes, or three wheel recumbant trikes.  They are very user friendly, easier to ride, etc.  and you can get large oversized padded or gel seats for comfort.  The handle bars and the position you sit on a recumbant means you have no shoulder pain from leaning on the bars.  Look around and see if you can rent one for a month to give it a try.
