Protein Intake at 10 days out

So, I understand that I am supposed to be consuming approximately 60 grams of protein daily.  However, the pureed diet that I was given gave me an example of eating 1/4 cup morning, noon and night and 4 oz. of protein shake for snacks 3 times daily.  I have been following the amounts but it never adds up to 60 grams.  If fact, it is damn near impossible with the amounts.  Any suggestions?

You can double up on the protein powder or add powdered milk to your shakes. 

10 days out I think my doc told me to do the best I could - it was more important to get stay hydrated and the protein would catch up.  I was however drinking 8 oz shakes three times a day, which would have added up to 60 grams of protein.  It sometimes took a long time to get 8 oz down.

Good luck - you will get there.  It only gets easier.

On my plan I was not expected to get the full 60 grams of protein a day until I was able to be on a full diet. However, you can up your protein with the addition of another shake or adding extra unflavored protein powder to what you already consume.

I had RNY 2 days ago and they told me to concentrate on getting my liquids in and only worry about protein if I was feeling groggy/woozy and needed a "bump".  They told me water before protein.
