Ouch! Help!

Today I am 4 weeks post op. I had read that at 22 days I could start adding items such as 1/4 piece of wheat toast with an egg for breakfast. I tried this on Saturday and had the absolute most horrible pain in my chest that would come in waves for like 45 minutes. So I thought, ok, never again. However, since then anything that I eat gives me the same effect. I jsut had 1/4 cup of tuna for lunch and here I am almost crying from the pain. Have I done something horrible??
Early out eating just 1 tiny bite too much, too quickly, not chewing untill food is mush, or getting greedy not taking a baby size bite made me feel just like that, I swear it felt like the food was stuck in my heart and it was surely going to exsplode. Just to be safe you should call your surgeons office and let them know. I was not allowed bread so early but every surgeon is a little different. Your body just might not be ready for those foods yet. Good luck to you.
A lot of post ops have trouble with eggs. I am 8 months out and eggs can still stick going down, so I avoid them. Are you chewing into mush because that sounds like something stuck? A couple of times getting food stuck, and you will remember to chew better.
I don't eat bread, but I have read on this forum that it can ball up and cause discomfort, so you might ditch the bread for awhile.
If something gives you a hard time, put it aside and try it again later. What you can't tolerate now may be OK in the future.
You haven't done anything horrible - you are just learning what your fussy pouch is going to allow you to eat. And, yes, it hurts like crazy!

Your pouch may got irritated. Go back to liquids (full liquids) for a day or 2... then try somethng light (not bread or eggs) again. and see how it feels. Yuo may need to give it some time to heal... whatever the bread did to the opening...
