Cosmetic Surgery in Mexico (After losing 100lbs from Sleeve)
Does Anyone have any experience with HOSPITAL JERUSALEM in Tijuana, Mexico? I am looking into having a Thigh and Butt lift (Dermolipectomy). I have lost almost 100 lbs after having the Gastric Sleeve in September 2011. I had that surgery here in Boston (luckily my insurance paid for that). My insurance will not pay for cosmetic surgery.
I can live with the excess skin in my arm and belly area but god has blessed me with the booty. lol. Problem is all the extra skin that is hanging below the butt now. My husband and sister think I will die if I go to Mexico and have this done. I would rather have it done in the States (Preferably near Massachusetts), but it is about $9,000-$14,000 here. Hospital Jerusalem (which was refered to me by a friend who is a nurse) is about $3000-$4000.
My other concerns are that I am about a 4 1/2 hour flight from San Diego and not sure how I will do sitting on my butt that long after having surgery on it. lol.
I am also concerned about being in Mexico by myself, they said if my husband comes - I will then go to a hotel instead of the Recovery house - not sure I want to give up that extra care by having him stay with me.
Hope someone has been in this same boat and has some advice. I appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have not had surgery at this 'hospital'. However, I have seen many posts about this place. Here are two links to threads about someone`s personal experience:

Thank you JJ. Enough said after all those posts. I have actually talked to Tufts Medical in Boston, Where I had my Gastric Sleeve and they seem cheaper than alot of others in Boston. They would be my first choice and it only makes sense to take my time with saving my money and have it done right. They told me (only quotes because they would have to see me) but Surgery itself would be about $4000,Hospital stay $1200 and Anesthesia $1100. I have gotten prices from $9000-$14,000 at other Cosmetic Surgeons offices. I guess Tufts is my place to go. Better start saving my money. Lol...
Thank you again!!!!!!!!
Thank you again!!!!!!!!

There are reputable and safe plastics in Mexico. Check the plastics board for more information.

Perhaps once you are inside the clinic you may be safe, but border towns are very violent. Kidnappings and murder are becoming the norm instead of the exception.

I had two rounds of plastics in Mexico (also had WLS in Mexico) All were great experiences. Research is key... good and bad Dr's in all countries. I felt very safe... most Dr's have drivers that will pick you up stateside and bring you directly to the clinic.

Try Dr. Sauceda, there is a board on the plastics for him. Also he will be in Vegas on June 1 & 2 doing consults. He is in Monterrey, Mexico, the hotel he uses is a Hampton Inn from the hotel you can see a MsDonalds and an Applebee's. I will be consulting with him in June and hope to have surgery in November. Do ample research and you can find better doctors in Mexico. Its just like the US in the aspects of some Doc's just want your money and some just want to help.
