How much water do you drink?
You MUST drink a minimum of 64 ounces of fluid every day---no ifs, ands. or buts. No, it probably won't be easy for the first few weeks, but---you've just gotta DO it.
Just how easy this will be will depend in part on which form of WLS you choose to have. I chose the DS, and I never really had any trouble with this. (With the DS, you still have (a much smaller) fully-functional stomach.) Even the first few days post-op, I could easily drink four ounces at a go, and have another four ounces about 15 minutes later.
I'm curious how much water I'll be able to drink post-op. Right now I guzzle 16 ounces at a time, about 100 oz in a day. I imagine with a smaller tummy I'll be drinking less and I worry about dehydration. Has this been a problem for anyone?
Thanks!
I'm four years post op and I drink about a gallon a day - so something like 128 oz. I don't guzzle. I just drink normally, all day long.
I did have trouble with dehydration in the first couple weeks post op because I was very nauseous and threw up a lot and had trouble drinking very much because I felt so nauseous.

I get in between 64 oz and 80 oz a day. I find it is easier to get my liquids in with herbal tea and crystal light added to my water. I have a big plastic water bottle that has ounces marked off up to 32 oz. so I know where I am at all times. I have to start early too otherwise I can't get it all in.
