I have a question about what I should be using as a sugar substitute. I have only used Splenda for the last several years, but I see many posts that use Stevia. Is one better than the other?

For me, when I was using Splenda, I had horrible cravings and found it hard to maintain my weight. Since switching to raw Stevia, my cravings have greatly diminished and I have had no trouble maintaining my weight. Other people have no problems with Splenda.

I have stopped using all artificial sweetners.  Here are some articles on artificial sweeteners.

I'm still using splenda. I tried stevia, could NOT stand the taste.

i've read that raw stevia is better because its not full of chemicals like splenda, however, most supermarket stevia is not raw, but processed with chemicals (like truvia). i've found it somewhat difficult to find raw stevia, but i've heard a good rule of thumb is that if its white, its not raw. i try to mostly stick with natural sweeteners, but if i'm at starbucks, i'll grab a splenda. good luck.

All I know is that artificial sweeteners act like diuretics for me and cause me to run to the bathroom within 20 minutes of consumption.  I don't think stevia does that to me though..

That's me with all other substitutes but been using splenda myself for over 10 years...my body is use to it.

Yes, I was the same too, but I tentatively tried Splenda and I've been fine (I have it in quite large quantities now and am fine on it).

I developed allergies to splenda... I try to avoid it as much as I can...I use liquid stevia.

That sucks.  What allergies did you develop if you don't mind my asking (I want to know what to watch out for as Splenda is the only thing other than Stevia that I'm OK with).
