I started eating Greek Yogurt and have only found 2 that I like. I like Chobani Pear and Aldi Strawberry. What are your experiences? To our success! Kris

Love Greek yogurt. Although it is a little tangy. I eat plain fat free.  I put a packet of splenda in with a cup of yogurt.  I also mix in 1/2 c fiber one.  It's a great breakfast.  Always stays down for me and the cereal is 57% of the recommended fiber for the day. Only 190 calories and very filling.

I like it best when it's NOT fat-free.  I know, not good for RNY, but as a DSer, I actually started adding heavy cream to my vanilla yogurt and it eliminates the aftertaste altogether.

Valerie... Excuse me, full fat is also great for RNY. It is great for us with RH. The fat free are bad for my BS. And the fat also helps with constipation. I used to eat fat free and had issue, now full fat is great and I has to add fat to 2% to be able to eat it.

Now, I have two friends who dump on foods  with a certain amount of fat in it (they know the number of grams-and it's not much).  Now, only half of RNY's dump, so you and the other poster are definitely the exception to that, but to send someone blindly thinking they'll have absolutely no ill effects is irresponsible, don't you think?

I don't eat a high fat diet (hence the stick of butter joke) I eat a normal fat diet ...    Hala and I both dump on sugar, I believe but find that fat is an important component in NOT suffering with RH, which is where most RNY'ers go wrong once they start adding carbs to their diet  - they indulge in carbs without adding the necessary protein and fat!

A normal fat diet for me doesn't include fried food - which would cause me to dump too.

I would not say either of us is irresponsible and I'm sorry you didn't get the joke!

As Kim, I deal with different fats differently. Most natural fats are great for me, and some - like in deep fry foods may make me dump.
Point I was trying to make is to correct some misconceptions that all or most RNY have problem with fat. I made a mistake to eat mostly fat free after my WLS . I think that's why I lost my GB. I do believe long term post op RNY can benefit from more fat than carbs and sugar. It took me over a year to realize that fat is very beneficial to me and that I need fat to really function well. I had a year when I tried to limit calories to maintain my weight while doing low fat. Only when I start eating more fat and limit my carbs that I was able to lose the regain and now I not only maintain rather easily but my BS remains rather stable. I think that extreme low fat diet recommended for most if not all RNY people may cause them more problem than regular fat diet.

I don't know why RNY newbies are eating low fat/fat free these days - I have never bothered about fat content and am still malabsorbing at nearly 9 years out ...  Not that I'd add a stick of butter to it devil but ...

I love Greek yogurt, I prefer the 0% fat plain, I add NSA applesauce & a little cinnamon to it.

The ones you like have sugar added. I know I could not eat that.
