Day 24 of no pop/coffee and Week 4, day 2 of couch to 5k training.

I made the decision a month ago that I did not have gastric bypass surgery 5 years ago for nothing.  I could not break through my plateau (I hung out at 155-170 for years) and needed help.  I gave up pop/coffee and am taking supplements.  I run 3-4 days a week and am focused on completing my first 5k in 6 weeks.  I have lost 13 pounds in 24 days.

What made me make these changes?  Watching my Mom of 62 on oxygen and in a wheelchair because of years of self-neglect.  I will not repeat this legacy.

I am excited to see what my future holds.  For me, gastric bypass was not a cure all.  It has taken me 42+ years to decide to love myself enough to make my health a priority.

It is never too late.  To our success friends!

Congrats on taking control and making the necessary life changes! Thank you for sharing the experience so those that think it is a cure all without the other work involved will see it isn't.

Good Luck on your 5k!
