Well Ive been thinking alot about after surgery the skin issues I'm at my heaviest weight 286 lbs the weight is well distributed through out my body any one comparable to me thats lost a  amount? I don't necessarily want to ever get plastic surgery. Just wondering.

indecisionYes my darling there will be skin... for sure.. I was 369 HW and 348 day of surgery and I got me some skin. I am down 130 pounds in 8 months. Basically at first things just get more jello-e like. My legs are loosey goosey the skin folds over on each side when i am in bed and i raise my knee, hard to visualize i know....yes bat wings also...and my belly flap..well its like its own birth control, its like a cover-all. LOL

Please dont get discouraged, just wear your underware backward to hold in your apron, other wise it might slip out of your underware and land on your leg.

I started a Canadas saving bond just a bit before my surgery to save up for plastic surgery when I am all done and sure I still want to have the plastic surgeries.

Its do-able even if you cant afford or dont want plastic surgery there are many ladies on here that can fill you in on the proper under garmets.

It depends on a number of factors.

How tall are you?  286 lbs on someone 5ft 10in is a lot different than someone 5 ft 1 in.

How old are you?  Skin springs back better on someone younger than someone older.

How long have you been at that weight?  Think of a balloon.  When you first blow it up and then let all the air out, it kinda, sorta still looks like its original shape.  Then after a while of blowing it up and letting it stay up, and finally letting the air out....nope, does not go back to its original shape.

What is your skin like?  That is by genetics.  Do you have a lot of stretch marks?  That is like the balloon analogy above.

Weight distribution.  You indicate that it is well distributed and not just one big belly with stick legs.  That is a positive sign.

Good luck.  The bottom line is that you will have to find out what it will be like for you.

More than anything else, GENETICS is the key.  I have seen girls in their early 20's lose 100 lbs and need plastics, I have seen girls in their 50's lose 100 lbs and need hardly any work done.

You have to make a choice.  Do you want to remain overweight with your skin filled in with weight or do you want to lose weight and deal with the excess skin.  I chose to lose the weight and deal.

I've had lots of plastics done. It's really no big deal and my body looks better today than it ever has.  Scars?  I've got them and I really do not care.  My tummy is flat and my legs look great!  WE do what we gotta do to be healthy!

There are a lot of myths related to excess skin.  Losing slower won't make any difference.

Lost 271lbs with my LapBand in 22 months!  My Band malfunctioned and I gained almost 42lbs and then revised to the Sleeve 9/24/12!  I lost another 140 lbs with my Sleeve!  Loved the LapBand and Lovin' The Sleeve!

I was personally more concerned with the diabetes and other life taking issues happening if I stayed morbidly obese than I was about loose skin. diabetes will take your legs off an inch at a time ,burn your retinas out so you are blind, aand burn your kidneys up so you are on dialysis.  Even if you don't have diabetes now,you will get it if you are nearly 300#,sooner or later. Morbiid obesity ids the number one cause of Type II ddiabetes and it ain't pretty.

You may think your fat is well distributed over your body but there is really nothing attractive about that much fat ,to me,not on myself and not on others. You can't even cover it up.

Loose sin empty of fat can be managed in ways you wouldn't believe using supportive undergarments.

I will have plastics in a heartbeat when the time comes. For me it is simply another facet of my efforts to become a normal size human, something I have never been before WLS. Good luck on your decision making.

I started at 283.5 and currently weigh 137 at 5'5 after 20 years of MO.  Plastics are the only way to get rid of the skin, if it drives you nuts have it cut off, if it doesn't then you are golden.

Here is my before and after (before was 1 month after rny) after is 7 years later taken last summer, tummy, arms and neck all fixed.

Looking great, where did you get the plastic done if you don't mind me asking?
