HRT after gastric bypass. Will we absorb it?

I am having major issues with hot flashes. Can't sleep. Just miserable. I have an appointment with my GYN in August I'm guessing that an HRT will be explored, but I'm wondering if I will even absorb it. Any thoughts or experience with this?

I went on hormones after my hysterectomy, they helped tremendously. I used the Vivelle Dot which is a patch that is changed 2 times a week. I'm currently off them, but some days wonder if I should get back on them. I also deal with hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia and irritation.

I had terrible Hot flashes after my Gastric bypass, and finally better after about six months.

Same here, Zachariah, however, after 3 years the flashes are back with a vengeance.

I am on a patch and I use progesterone pills every night. So far so good - last 3 years

I'm also on Vivelle dot .. patch and I've had no issues with it!

My Dr recommended it when I told her I'd had RNY.
