I feel great otherwise, but having chills and feeling cold. Could it be lack of iron in the pre-op diet?

Do you have a fever? If so, please call your doctor ASAP.  You do not want to get an infection.

Weren't you taking vitamins during your pre-op diet? Seems like it would be too short a time period to develop anemia.

Take good care of yourself.

I had a fever of 103 3 days post-op in the middle of the night with heart ate at 130 bpm.  I went back to the hospital and they admitted me, gave me something to lower the temp, IV drip and antibiotic IV.  The doc told me it was part dehydration and part "trauma" due to the fact that I bled quite a bit during surgery.  I was released the next afternoon.

Unless you were anemic to start, your body has enough iron to hold you for several weeks.  I'd be concerned with an infection right now.  Check your temp.  If you have a fever, give the doc a call asap.  It may also be circulation issues, so be sure you're getting up and moving plenty. Either way, it doesn't hurt to call the doc.

My concern being in the medical profession for over 35 years would be an early indicator of infection. Trust your body when it is telling you something is not right. Keep an eye on it and advice the physician immediately. Wouldnt want that to get our of hand. Good luck.
