Hi to everyone,

I am very post-op and want to lose the 20 pounds I have gained over the last 2 years. I welcome any tips you might have for me. Note just had a complete hysterectomy last month. Thanks Connie

Hi Connie,

We did a search "Getting Back On Track" and found some great threads on the subject, like ditch the carbs, log everything you eat.

!0 Steps for Getting Back On Track

Some other suggestions

1.  Remember why you had surgery in the first place.  I have before/after photos.  I look at my before photo to remind me how I felt physically and emotionally, and the fact that I don't want to go back there or regain weight.

2.  Don't graze.  Grazing (unplanned snacking) is a big reason many of us regain some weight.

3.  If you have a problem with sugar, avoid it.  Unfortunately, I get into the sugar cycle very easily.  Eating sugar, wanting more, feeling guilty, rinse and repeat.  LOL

4.  You could join the Back On Track Together OH Group at http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/backontracktogether/

5.  To log your food and activity, use OH's Health Tracker.  You can find it under the "My OH" tab.  Now that OH is mobile, it is even easier to use Health Tracker.  If you need to plan your meals, plan them each day and stick to them.  I find if I do that, it is easier to stay on track.

The good thing is that you're very aware of 20 pounds.  That is good.  You've caught it before it become 30+ pounds.
