gastric sleeve mexico

I am looking for help for my sister.  She wants to go to Mexico for the gastric sleeve.  Has anyone here done this? if so by who? cost, details? anything we need to know?

Try posting this on the VSG board. There are lots of people who had surgery in Mexico with awesome results. They can give you a lot of information.

Sleeved in Mexico 12/18/13 by Dr. Almanza. He is a great bariatric surgeon!! From my research he has performed more sleeves, etc than any other single bariatric surgeon in Mexico. I am completely satisfied with my sleeve.  The full clinic ("hospital")/staff experience though left many things to be desired.  After I paid my deposit, I found Dr. Lopez.  If I had it to do all over, I would have gone with him.

Having surgery Jan 30 with dr Almanza were there problems at the hospital?

Oh, no. I didn't realize you had already madeyour selection. You have no worries with Dr Almanza. I would definitely go ahead. Plus you can't get your deposit back. You will be fine with him as your surgeon. What bothered me about the clinic is personal preference issues. They will take care of you nothing to worry about there.

There's also a forum called, I think, 'South of the Border' that focuses on WLS in Mexico, Brazil, etc.
