1st Metting with Surgeon

Thanks GingerJen.... I do want to ask the nutritionist about feeding my 8 year old son. It's just the two of us and I want to make sure he is eating healthier too and getting full. It will be a big change for him too.

So true. I think getting my kids on track will be harder than myself. They are carb junkies!!!!

I've past my bad eating habits on to him.  We eat too much and it's all bad for us. He deserves better. I don't want him to grow up with some of the same issues I did being heavy.

I am having surgery through the same group! I registered just so I could respond. I had my first surgeons meeting last Friday. They are a great group. I am just waiting for approval at this point. Good luck!!!

How awesome ! Which doctor are you going with? I'm going to go with dr. Cox. Friday to meet with him can't get here soon enough. Good luck for you as well!

I am going with Dr. Hata, I was not picky they all seemed awesome to work with. I live in Asheville, to me it is worth the drive because Mission seems to make me feel just like a number unlike in Hickory. I think I have reached the hardest stage before the surgery, waiting on that darn insurance. I may sneak in a call Friday to see where it sits. Not to be nosey, but what insurance company do you go through?

I have united health care. I checked with them back in November and we had to choose a carrier at work and they said they would cover it (minus my part) and HS said they have the least problems with them getting the surgeries approved.   I have a co-worker who had the RNY done three years ago by dr. Hata. She really liked him and had nothing but good things to say about him. I was going to go with dr. Hata but dr. Cox was the one that visited on the day we had the education class and I really likes him. Since I hadn't met dr hata in person I'm going with dr cox. 

I use Coventry, all I know of their requirements is that they are teh same as the surgeons soI am estatic about that. I am glad to hear that your friend had a positive experiemce with him. I am just glad I do not have BC/BS and their requirements!
