OT: The Science of Willpower
SUPER interesting article about willpower, and it talks about weight loss as well. If you have time, give it a read. I love TED talks - they always make me think :)
I have found that my success (so far, only 3 months post-op) has as much to do with my newfound willpower as it does with my new tool. Curious what you all think.
The TED talk linked in the article looks fascinating too, but I haven't had the chance to watch it yet!

Oh I'm 100% with you! I didn't have the willpower before and I didn't have a tool to help me kick start my new, healthy life. Definitely don't mean to insinuate that I could have had the success I am having now without RNY :) But...I do find that willpower is a newfound friend of mine and I have my head in the game and I am working this tool to my advantage :)
Thank you so much for sharing this blog post! A lot of what was stated seems to be holding true for me lately. It's much easier to not eat crap or huge portions if I frame it as a choice that I am making for myself and my health rather than a prohibitive thing. I empower myself by making all of these lifestyle changes my choice. Nothing is being forced upon me. Reading this was enlightening.
Now I can't wait to get home and watch some TED Talks tonight. It's been a while!
