Very disappointed
I have been keeping up with my intake on myfitnesspal.com. Over the past few days I have gone over 800 calories. Unfortunately, I weighed and have gained 5 lbs. since my last weigh in last week. I am so upset. I thought I was doing good even though I went over a few days by a little I had been more active. I guess I will exercise more and get back on track. I want to lose 15 lbs. I must break through this plateau of 125 lbs.

You would have to go way over 800 calories a day to gain 5 lbs in a week. To gain 5 lbs in a week you would need to eat 2500 more calories then you burn every day, or roughly 4000 calories a day, in order to gain that much. I would guess that is water weight, which can come on rather quickly, and leave just as fast. Don't worry about it, just keep doing what you are doing and as long as you take in fewer calories then you burn you will lose the excess weight.

Don't be so hard on yourself; you've done so well to get where you are! I'm inclined to agree that it's most likely water weight. Also, I don't know how tall you are, but 125 is pretty small....Is your doctor saying 115 would be a healthy weight for you, or have you been in good shape at that weight before? I'd hate to see you striving for a goal that would be a constant struggle to maintain...best wishes!
I am 5"4. 115 lbs is a good weight for me according to doctor and charts. I was not thinking abou****er weight. That will come right off. Thanks for the encouragement and wisdom.

I'm surprised your doctor wants you to go that low. I'm 5'2-3/4" and my doctor doesn't want me any lower than 127 lbs. He's kind of freaking out that I've gotten as low as I have so quickly (which is just weird and wrong-headed in my opinion). It could be my age too...I'm 52 and I want to keep a little meat on my bones :-)
You would have to be eating lots to gain five pounds in a week. I think you are doing very well. Weight fluctuates so much. It can depend on what time of month it is for you, water weight that you're retaining. Make sure that you're drinking a minimum of 64 oz. of water so you aren't retaining water.
127 is right in the middle of normal BMI for 5'4". Have you considered body fat testing for a better goal?
