Idea for post of pureed food stage

At my consult today the person I met with mentioned when I puree food to put the extras in one ounce(2 tablespoons) portions in ice cube trays and freeze them. I just thought about preparing some before my surgery so meals will be super easy. Pop out the number of cubes they want me to have and then let them defrost. I was also thinking about putting them in the ziploc freezer bags, after they are done freezing of course. This would be a good way to take advantage of the cheap prices of fresh fruit this summer since fresh fruit has more nutrients than canned.

I'm two weeks post-op and I'll tell you some of the things I thought I'd like sound gross to me now. Not sure why, but I've heard this from others as well, so I'd be cautious about prepping too much pureed food in advance. By the time you're ready for that phase, getting out of the house and getting groceries will probably feel good and you'll have a better idea of what seems good to you.

It took two weeks for me to get to purees and, by that time, I was so ready to be planning meals and cooking again!
