Approval with more waiting

Hey guys,

I was extremely excited to check my email this morning and see the response to my inquiry about my surgery- I have been approved for gastric bypass!! :) However, I was a little dejected when I called my doctor's office to set up a date. They said I needed to wait another week for the doctor to approve me and for them to hear back from insurance. The scheduler almost sounded like she didn't believe me. 

I guess I'm just annoyed because I've passed every medical test the doctor said is needed and they've called to tell me that. Also, I had to call the doctor's office a week after being done with the insurance requirements and they had no idea it was done and hadn't submitted.

Has anything like this happened to anyone else?

It must be very annoying for you ?  I am fron Ontario and we are covered and I did not even have to call about it.  Goodluck :-)

I am in the same boat.

I got my approval online as well. I was informed by the clinical person,  I had to "wait" for them to get THEIR letter... then they called me the next day. But it took almost a week after I knew I was approved. Keep checking with them.. good luck! I finally got my surgery scheduled...

My doctor's office called while I was on the phone with the insurance company finding out I was approved.  Perhaps ask your insurance company if they could call or fax your doctor's office and then call to confirm receipt.

Thanks for the responses! I'm just gonna wait it out. The hard part is over so now it's all downhill from here. :)

I had the same thing happen.If you have paper work I would tell the doctors office you are going to fax the information to them.I am sure you will get paperwork in the mail.I am sure the doctors office will want that and not the email.

It will all fall into place.It seems like forever waiting.But now is the time to practice not drinking with meals and getting ready for the surgery.
