I've noticed that a lot of us are missing our surgery info from our posts. (The info used to show up on the top right hand corner of every post.) I've also noticed that my very well known and well respected surgeon does not show up when I use the "find a surgeon" feature here on OH. What gives?

I've noticed this as well!  It makes giving sound advice much more challenging!  I hope this is just a temporary bug that OH is working hard to correct.

Right - we need to know if the person giving advice is a true veteran or a newbie. And if they have the same surgery you've had. Common sense dictates that the more info you have at your fingertips, the better!

I hope it gets fixed soon!

I just PMed Member Services asking the very same thing.

I emailed customer service, and it seems like only certain surgeons are getting shown now - I assume the ones that sponsor the site financially?  This is a real shame.  At the least OH could have kept surgery date/type displaying.  :(

That's a shame! But still, why not show surgery type and date? That information is pretty important!

Hmmmm...sounds a bit like conflict of interest doesn't it?  This site is supposed to be FOR those having or preparing to have WLS and if we have to worry about who is financially supporting this site, then we might not be so apt to give our honest opinions on such important things as after care, bedside manners, efficiency of office staff, surgeons, surgical issues, etc.

A popular misconception.

This site is a business and is run for profit - support is a merely a good side effect of the business model.   We are merely players by invitation and the people who pay the bills call the shots - it's always been that way and always will.   This site is NOT a democracy - but I do think they try and be fair, but bills have to be paid!

Yep, me too. Come on, OH, can you help us out and get this fixed?
