It's been a little almost 2 years after I've had surgery, I got it done when I was 19 and now I'm 21 and my bottom teeth are already turning black and yellow! It's just causing more embarrassment to have this problem at only 21! Does everyone have this problem? And what vitamins work the best to keep your body going cause since then I've developed a lot of a exits and I usually feel weak every single day.

I am experiencing this same problem. mine just started this year at 7+ years post op.turning black with a couple new holes on the bottom teeth. Haven't figured out why other than a simple guess that we are not aborbing calcium very well for our teeth to stay strong. I visit the dental college often , they continue to fill in the blackened spots with some white type of filling because my roots are still good they say. I was taking 4 cailcium citrate pills a day 500 mg each, plus what I was eating with lots of calcium, that turned out that was caused my last heart attack, doctor said I had too much calcium built up in my heart arteries. I knew something was wrong prior to my heart attack,I had calcium bumps in my left hand. wow you are very young for this to happen to you. I am almost 57. Just best to accept may need to get full dentures. I have already accepted that I may need full dentures one day. They probably look much better than these black spotted with white parts too. I actually already wear a partial, I have a few teeth missing in the back, so the partial helps me chew foods..My mother had full dentures at age 33 and she did not have wls..She looked great with them.. .. You are getting half the calcium you think you are. Unlike most other supplements, the 500mg listed on the lable for calcium is per TWO, not each.

The calcium depositing in wrong places is not from too much calcium (you are getting a mere pittance compared to what you should be getting) but likely because you are not getting the co-factors for calcium to send it and keep in in the right places.

How much do you take of vitamin D, vitamin K(k2 or k1), phosphorus or magnesium? What are your levels on your labs of these? The calcium level on labs means next to nothing, and the body pulls the calcium out of your bones to keep that level up, so high PTH is a better indicator. There are more, but you need to talk to a specialist that understands your surgery.

And I'd fire that doctor that said you are getting too much calcium. He's dooming your bones and teeth.

My guess is that you're suffering some serious malnutrition.  You need to get a full blood panel done.  Call your surgeon for a list of what all you need, for the PCP office usually doesn't get enough tests on their own guesses.  My blood draws are usually 12 vials at a minimum.
